Joyce graduated Magna Cum Laude from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. She excelled in project management and business communication courses.

Upon graduation from college, Joyce began a career in hospitality management with Marriott International, Inc. During her tenure with Marriott, she demonstrated strong management skills which resulted in her advancement within the organization. Joyce’s professional career entered the not-for-profit arena when she took a position as Marketing Representative with Cartridges for Kids, a recycling company for schools and other non-profit organizations where she increased participation and recycling in her territory over 400% after just months with the company.

Project management was a logical progression for Joyce when she accepted a position as Office Manager for VideoMagic Productions. Here, she saw to the timely progress and completion of projects, and assisted the production team with exceptional quality deliverables. Joyce sharpened her skills in attaining sponsorships during her tenure with Newcomers Welcome Service. She was consistently recognized as a Top Sponsoring Liaison in the company. Her expertise in event planning was honed in her role as Wedding & Event Coordinator with Dream Wedding & Event Planners. She has a keen eye for details in planning and execution, and an ability to multi-task and remain calm in high-pressure situations.

Joyce has experience working on a volunteer basis with service organizations. One of her proudest achievements is her successful role as “Cookie Mom” for her daughter’s Girl Scout troop. In addition, she helps out at her church by bringing home-made meals to senior citizens and those recovering from surgery or illness.
